A Lifeline for School-Going Children: Update on the Feeding and Preschool Program
Our feeding program has blossomed into a vital lifeline for 185 school-going children, nurturing not just their bodies, but also their minds and spirits. The Global Connections Feeding Preschool Program is dedicated to providing balanced meals that fuel academic success, while also ensuring comprehensive support through regular health check-ups conducted by our compassionate nurse. In partnership with a dedicated social worker, we identify and address the challenges these children face at home, creating a holistic support system that empowers them to thrive.
At Mission Primary School, the 100 children enrolled in our program enjoy daily nutritious meals that energize them for their studies. This initiative has significantly increased school attendance, reduced dropout rates, and fostered an environment where children can truly excel. The care and support they receive help break the cycles of hunger and uncertainty, paving the way for brighter futures.
For the 85 preschool children attending our Main Centre and K-Branch, we provide not only nourishing meals but also a strong foundation in education up to PP2. With the dedication of our team of four teachers, these children gain essential skills that set them on the path to success. The combination of quality education and nutritious nourishment empowers them to transition smoothly into formal schooling, equipped to face future challenges.
Beyond the children, our program has strengthened the bonds between parents and caregivers. Over the years, we have walked alongside families, creating a vibrant community that helps them navigate life’s challenges. Together, we have cultivated hope and resilience, embodying our mission to bring love, justice, and healing to these families.
By addressing the physical, emotional, and educational needs of our children, we are not only feeding their bodies but also nourishing their souls and minds. We believe that every child deserves the chance to rise above adversity and reach their full potential.
