COVID-192021-02-16T22:20:35+00:00

Dear GC Family,

This is certainly a strange season and while our economy is suffering during the shutdown, we can see that the economy of third world countries has been hit immeasurable harder and their bounce back will be immeasurable slower.

Global Connections is working with our trusted partners to help feed people in Kenya. Along with Pat’s feeding program, which has faithfully provided food for the elderly for 20 years and the LCC, who serves the at risk and hungry children in their community, we are currently working with three emerging feeding programs to help during this Covid-19 crisis.

Please see below the newly formed programs and ways that you can help during this time:

This was early April, 2020.  Imagine the situation now.

Empower to Transform

Covid-19 partner family program | Limuru, Kenya

  • Connecting families
  • $40/month
  • 1 year commitment

This feeding program is not only feeding a family – but is building relationships by connecting families from both sides of the globe through the exchange of prayer requests and photos. For a donation of $40, a Limuru family will be fed for one month. Not only is this program feeding families, it is also forming a relationship between donors and recipients with exchanging of photos and prayer requests.

Global Connections is asking for a one-year commitment of $40/month from our donors and asking the Kenyan family to (choose their sponsors from the short profiles we each month with our committed donors and) commit to praying for the family that is sponsoring them – sharing their spiritual wealth as we share our material wealth. So far, we have 56 of these families sponsored and have identified many new families who need our help. To donate and get connected to a family, please click here.

Oasis of Endless Hope

Duncan Kimani | Nairobi, Kenya

  • Feeding families in the slums of Nairobi
  • $50/month to feed a family

This program is located in Nairobi and is working with the families in the slums. $50/month will sustain a family in the city through this crisis. In this program, we are not forming relationships, but are being the hands and feet of Christ to some of the poorest of the poor people on the globe.

Duncan is also working with a few of the 1000 families whose homes were razed a few weeks ago due to a political move by the government. These people were making a living and had a home, but found themselves suddenly homeless and jobless in the middle of a lockdown. To learn more about what happened to these families, click here.
